About Washington DC Event & News Photography | Joe Tresh

I cover events and news in local communities, politics, personalities, protests, concerts, corporate events, and exclusive parties in Washington, D.C. I have been photographing the LGBT community for 20 years. My photography has been published by Der Spiegel, Advocate, Washington Post, Washington Blade, Bay Windows, Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Gay News, Bay Area Reporter, textbook publishers and more. I feature photography by myself and other local photographers on the "Washington Photo Journal."

I picked up my first hand-me-down Polaroid instant camera as a toddler in the 1970s. I was inspired by the "Day in the Life" series of books, especially "...California." In today's digital age I continue to be fascinated by the still image's emotional strength and ability to capture history.
